whatever the reason, I wish him all the best. He probably ranks as one of our greatest coaches in UD history of any sport. We should all be proud to have had him as our FH leader. We'll miss you Rolf!

Damn shame, he is one good coach. Does the FH team have a new home at this point?

ugh, not the news I wanted to see about the Field Hockey program as we were spoiled with Rolf. I'm a Chrissi fan but don't understand what the hang up is in finding the team a conference to call home

As mentioned in KT's article, our success likely made it harder to convince a conference to take us.

Agree with your thoughts...or thought process. It would be unfair to speculate on my part but something seems off here.

You would think that a strong program would be attractive to conferences looking for additional members. Well it seems likely that UD will not be a strong program in the future and then may become a more attractive member for conference membership. A10 FHhas 7 members and could use another team. I wonder if AD Rawak tried to make both Men's Lax which did join the A10 and Women's FH an all or none proposition to the A10? I surely hope that AD Rawak did everything she could AHEAD of UD joining CUSA to pre-arrange homes for all UD sports that did not have a home in the CUSA and that here was nothing more that could have been done for FH. So Rolf and FH (one of UD's strongest programs) are the first casualties of the move to CUSA.

Would love for those more in the know to find out what exactly went down with all this

Of course they will call it as him "stepping down" or a mutual agreement but we all know that isn't the case

good questions- but don't expect any answers due to privacy concerns etc on both sides. I still am disappointed by OUR loss of such a fine coach and gentleman. Not everything in Blue Hen country is rosy these days!

Tough loss. The guy was a winner.

The good news is that Rolf says he will be staying in contact with our Blue Hens family.

Let’s hire a winner and find our program a home.
All I want for Christmas is a 2025 Bowl game for our Hens.

thoughts:
yes, hire a winner like Rolf- don't expect
nice- keep in touch-Rolf-we'll miss you- maybe any major news if you are to continue coaching elsewhere
it would be grand to find a home for our team(if it's not done already now with the departure of Rolf)

It’s likely the team will dropped & scholarships added to the other female teams to make up the difference.
