This pitching staff! We are 25ish games into the season...we have to be on record pace for walks and hit batters in a season. So far we are at 164 walks, 28 wild pitches and 32 hit batters.

I stand by statement, something has to give and give fast. Its not all on the players at this point

It’s hard to watch some of these games. We clearly lost the close game at Maryland and the last game with Dallas Baptist, among a few others, because of excessive free passes. It’s Division 1 scholarship baseball - throw strikes.

I saw we walk at least 20 this weekend, hit 3-5 batters and sprinkle in 4 wild pitches.

Lets hope my predictions are incorrect.

If our pitchers are walking/hitting/wild pitching a boatload of batters while the opponents are not, then WTH is going on?

These kids have been throwing since they were 5-years old and have been playing on travel teams year round. Once you are throwing on a regulation mound with regulation distance, the plate location doesn't change and it simply comes down to an umpire's calls (which your opponent also has to navigate).

I get that the pitchers are facing college batters...but gd it...throw strikes.

Maybe we can hire Dr. Mobley.

What is the problem with UD 's vulnerability to opponents' stealing bases? Is it lack of attention by UD's pitchers and/or poor throws by UD's catchers?

No Cockrill today. I didn’t see any of the Rutgers game, but looks like he was hit by a pitch and had to come out. Hopefully nothing too serious.

Surprised everyone complains about the pitching while the Hens bats are quiet. The team has an anemic .244 batting average for the season
UD to FBS. I never thought I’d see the day

Not a good weekend as the Hens are swept by Kennesaw.

The pitchers only gave up 14 walks, hit 3 batters and 2 wild pitches this weekend.

Its gonna be a long season....might need a full reset but doubtful that will happen. Proof that it wont happen is look at our basketball programs.

It may have already been a problem but UD made a number of key base running mistakes against Kennesaw St this past weekend.

I fondly remember the days of Bob Hannah. We were big in the sport back then and not much since.
