Portal has a lot to do with it. I’d be curious the amount of guys who had been at CUSA schools that transferred to a P4 that were drafted.Fightinghens2025 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 10:06 pmPretty brutal.UD '01 grad wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 7:01 pm One.

Saw something where it was the first time in 47 years where an FCS player wasn’t drafted in the first three rounds. Most likely same situation.

I still don’t think it’s great when you have just like all the p4 team’s dominating everything. Just going to show you how far FCS has slid. Hoping our undrafted guys with a chance there show some good stuff and make a team. It’s good for recruiting to have some players in the NFL.

Yep, if you’re a good player at the FCS level, you won’t be at the FCS level very long anymore… good for good players to make some money. Bad for good fans that like to watch good players …Udforever1 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 10:16 pmPortal has a lot to do with it. As I understand it with college teams recruiting more and more from the portal now, it increases the chances of higher rated high school players slipping through the big boys net. Of course P4 will be ready to pounce on these players in a year or two once they’ve grown up down on the farm
A viscous cycle
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

Re: # of CUSA players drafted
this is all portal effects! Players at G5 or FCS who would have been drafted already fled through the portal...so this will likely become the norm moving forwardFightinghens2025 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 10:06 pmPretty brutal.UD '01 grad wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 7:01 pm One.
