On a much brighter note, UD Field Hockey will join the MAC as an affiliate member beginning 2027.
Love it when a good plan comes together.
Dollar Dogs and $3 beer...and solid football weather...can we get a good Tuesday crowd?

not impressed that the turf has, I assume, not been installed on time. the Tower Hill traveling will not be a plus for the players or coaches, but great they found a solid practice site. Hope the MAC turns out to be a positive for FH ladies in 2027.

Interesting about the MAC. They already have 10 teams including 4 affiliate members. It wouldn't seem that they needed us. It looks like Miami was the 2025 champion (via MAC tournament) and received the one NCAA bid. They beat UVA 2-1 and then lost to Northwestern 2-3 who won the national championship.

Moving to the MAC next year is a step up in comparison to where we are competing now, and the CAA in my opinion. Of course, you can cover a weak conference to some extent with a strong out of conference schedule, as we have been doing, but no guarantees to get an at large bid. No guarantees in the MAC for an at large either, but level of competition should be strong and should definitely help recruiting. If we can’t be in the ACC, then the MAC is a pretty solid landing spot.

Both the Atlantic 10 and the Big East only have 7 teams each. CUSA conference mate Liberty is in the Big East

Very nice for field hockey. Four teams in the MAC finished in the top 30 in RPI last year.

I drove by Rullo over the last month and was wondering why no work was being done.

Does anyone have any insight as to why they are using Tower Hill instead of Caravel or St Marks [two closer schools with decent facilities].

TH I believe has the type of Astro turf that field hockey uses, where the others are more of the grassy type turf.
