CUSA Bowl Performances

Post by CapeHen »

CUSA is currently 3-2 in their bowl games.

Wins:

Delaware over Louisiana (SBC)
Jax State over Troy (SBC)
WKU over Arkansas State (SBC)

Losses:

Ark State (SBC) over MO State
Western Michigan (MAC) over Kennesaw State

Still to play:

FIU vs. UTSA (AAC)
LA Tech vs. Coastal (SBC)

Currently 3-1 vs. the sunbelt with 1 matchup remaining, 0-1 against the MAC (and it wasn’t close). Very interested to see what FIU looks like against UTSA.

Overall not a bad bowl season for what is probably still the weakest FBS conference. Hopefully one of UTSA or LA Tech can find a way to win.

This move has definitely made bowl watching more fun rooting for our conference mates.

Just saw the “bowl challenge” pop up on the screen. Did not know that existed but will keep rooting for our conference mates to have a shot at winning it.

Agree. Still early.

We probably have this team visiting us next year. How cool is that?

Oooof.

EDIT: Jenkins not playing. Back-up FIU QB is playing in bowl game.

31-14 after a 14-0 FIU start after the first few minutes that had an 97-yard TD FIU punt return after UTSA's first drive.

After that...yawn.

FIU is terrible.

Yeah I turned it off at Half time. One more to go. I would like to see CUSA with a winning record in this bowl season.

La Tech has a winnable game against Coastal Tuesday. If the Bulldogs get the win, that's four for CUSA in bowl season. For a conference that takes a beating in the FBS world, that's quite a statement!

FIU___

Half their OL and Most of their Secondary (plus others) "Opted Out" and did not even play.

LA Tech beats Coastal and that will do it for CUSA bowl season. Finished at a respectable 4-3.

4-1 vs. SBC
0-1 vs. AAC
0-1 vs. MAC

Although the SBC has JMU of course, as well as a very solid Old Dominion team, it certainly doesn’t seem like they are much better than CUSA.

Nice post-season for CUSA, especially against Sun Belt opponents. FIU and the GA Hooters were the only disappointments.
