It's just a hyperbolic discussion, no big deal and I see it as a positive. I'm okay with Carty being the Delaware Lite version of Cignetti. If he can retain our top talent and pull in players from all levels of the NCAA football, I'm more than fine with that. Just look at all of the transfer offers from the lower levels plus a commit from Michigan State! Find the players that want to be here and get them to buy into Delaware Football. Not as a stepping stone, but as a place to play for the rest of their collegiate career... hopefully!

He is a killer. He has made every single program look around and say, "what the hell have we been doing." These big programs down south have needed this wake-up call, though my own program has needed quite the fuel injection anyway. I strongly believe the quality of coaching is more evident now than previously in my fandom. The portal and NIL driving talent everywhere, little to no depth at big spots, and Cignetti and his crew have pulled together the most impressive turnaround in the history of college football. Money is a lot, but everyone has some degree of money at this point. Now, coaching and culture building are the separator. Thank goodness he embarrassed Alabama, it was like nectar for my soul.
Welcome!

I find that very interesting

Let me ask you, did you know anything about the Delaware Blue Hens before they moved up to FBS? Delaware has played down in Louisiana several times over the decades including a game in 1974 when they played in your home stadium, it just wasn’t against LSU :D

Just curious really
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

Interestingly enough Cignetti UD choose Rocco over him (Rocco had better resume at the time) with Cignetti being right around the corner previously coaching a IUP. His Elon teams smashed us when we were in the same conference. Then Carty was chosen over Chesney. We could have had them both. They likely both would have not stayed long but we would have won more and the program would be stronger. I wish out AD would have taken risks on highly successful coaches from lower programs.

The average age of the Green Bay Packers is 25. Yes, he has an eye for talent obviously, but it's more than that. He chooses highly motivated athletes that are going to buy in and play his brand of football. The National Championship game should be a good one, but I'd rather see Indiana curb stomp Miami into oblivion. I can't stand Michael Irvin and his ridiculous antics on the sideline.

This I never have liked Miami. Was hoping it would have been Ole Miss. That Miami Front is something special. Gonna take another clean game for IU to win. Mendoza man that kid impresses me on and off the field.

I think it speaks very well of Carty that so many of our players are (apparently) [knock-on-wood] foregoing the portal and staying at UD. They have bought into the program. In these days of NIL and big $$$ college football, that is a HUGE positive!
Be careful of the words you say,

which ones you'll have to eat!
