Schedule 2026

Post by LILax »

The Hens are typically the last team to post their schedule, but based on already posted schedules it will look something like this (home in CAPS and guesses are *):

2/7 @Drexel
2/14 @St. John's
2/21 *UTAH home
2/28 VILLANOVA
3/7 * @Penn
3/14 @Richmond
3/21 HIGH POINT
3/28 BINGHAMTON
4/4 HOBART
4/11@UMass
4/18 ST BONNIES
4/25 *@St Josephs

Might be a midweek game in there somewhere too. I would think 13 games would be about right. Pretty weak schedule overall with maybe 2 top 20 teams and 4 bottom 35 programs. No excuse not to go 10-2 or 9-3 at worst. Hens will be facing new coaches at Penn, UMass and St. Joes. ALSO, will be facing top 3 Atlantic 10 teams on the road.

I am sure that they will post the real schedule before Christmas. Be nice to have a home scrimmage as well.

From what I heard is it should be released shortly after the bowl game tonight. Could be the end of this week, but I expect it before 12/25

Got a couple things wrong. Maryland back on the schedule this year IN Newark!!! And a scrimmage versus Lehigh in Newark on January 24 1pm.

Regular Season:

1/31 UTAH
2/7 @Drexel
2/14 @St. John's
2/21 @Penn
2/28 VILLANOVA
3/6 MARYLAND (Friday night)
3/14 @Richmond
3/21 HIGH POINT
3/28 BINGHAMTON
4/4 HOBART
4/11@UMass
4/18 ST BONNIES
4/24 @St Josephs FRIDAY NIGHT

Hot and Cold schedule. Some tough games - Maryland, Villanova, Penn and RIchmond stand out as potential top 20 teams (Maryland and RIchmond definitely top 20). Should be fun to see the TERPS in Newark for the first time in nearly 40 years. Hens won the home game 9-5 in 1985 behind the strength of an insanely talented defense led by Bill Kemp, Joe Junior and Dan Harley.

I like this schedule. Maryland in Newark at night is awesome. I like that we play all 4 Philly schools instead of Monmouth, NJIT and Hampton like years past. Should be fun.

+1, Yes, and the games at Philly schools are easy to attend.

Plenty of early season away games...and almost a month between our home opener (1/31  )and our 2nd home game (2/28).

Love the Maryland home game...and love some of the local-ish away games (which tempers the number of conference teams being scattered across the country a bit).

Good string of home games in late March and early April...warmer weather for fans and tailgating.

Want increased support? Put out a good product and give the fans a bunch of chances to come out and see the team play. 7 home games is a good thing...now use some promotions to get the students and fans into the seats.

Looking forward to some fun lacrosse this Spring!

Inside Lacrosse magazine had an article on ten teams who will bounce back from disappointing 2025 seasons. We weren't on the list but High Point was.

High Point (7-9)

It’s only been a year for John Crawley as head coach, but I don’t think you can deny the fight his team has shown. They just aren’t a fun team to play against, and they got better through the year with April wins against UMass and Saint Joseph’s. I saw them in the fall and felt an overall level of grit. But they’ll win face-offs (Luca Accardo) and make saves (Zack Overend), and the offense is young and growing.

Looking forward to that Jan. 31 home game against the Utes. Probably go to Drexel the following Saturday, I like the little scoreboard that gives all the stats during the game. It’s great to see stats during the event.

Lil' Cluck and have the 31st on our calendar.

Weatherbug only goes out to the 28th (predicting some snow on the 27th and 28th), but it's January, so we already know to bundle up.
