I’m surprised considering it’s a road game for the Hens

Was thinking Jville would be favored by about 3 at home

Exactly why I don’t bet because who knows

Agree CH.

I would almost prefer being an underdog. Adds a little extra 'moxie' for the Hens.

One gambler's thoughts:

Pick: JVST +2.5-106

Project Jax State -7; Keep tabs on LT Lance Johnson. Delaware defense near dead last in Quality Drives allowed. Gamecocks top 35 Offensive Finishing Drives

We are near dead last in Quality Drives allowed because we play the 3-3-5 bend but don't break defense. I expect more 4 man fronts against this good running team. Look for Moul and Trainer to each have about 10 tackles.

Line back up to -3 almost everywhere.

More gamblers weigh in

Pick: Hens -2.5

The Blue Hens are one of the major overacheivers, +33 against the spread this season, 3rd in CUSA, they hung with Colorado and either pushed or covered depending the number you got and then whipped FIU down in South Florida as a road dog.

This a veteran team, that is buttoned up. Seven senior or super seniors on defense. They took WKU down to the wire in a game they if Minicucci doesn’t fumble at the goal line. I’ve seen enough to respect them.

Jacksonville State meanwhile has 3 wins. One over Murray State and a 2-pt win over Sam Houston State, who is more or less an FCS team headed for an 11 or 12 loss season.

Gavin Wimsatt got benched in favor of freshman Caden Creel. The kid is there to run the football, plain and simple. He can do that. nearly 300 yards rushing in the last two games and a pair of TDs.

Which is where I focus my attention. Agaisnt Kaidon Salter and JuJu Lewis, Delaware gave up all of 15 rushing yards to the CU QBs. Keyone Jenkins 5 rushing yards on 10 attempts. Kaiden Bennett from Delaware State who is a run-first QB, 30 yards on 10 carries. This defense will be prepared. Manny Rojas has been the DC for UDel 6 years, and he’s faced plenty of great dual threats at the FCS level.

The Gamecocks are one dimensional, Creel will look to throw 15 or 20 times and most of it is dink and dunk. If he’s forced to play catchup through the air, this could get away from JSU.

Pick: Hens -3

Just head and shoulders a better team. Better offensive talent and an extra 6 days to prep for a team who really needed the bye week. Watch for a renewed energy and attitude from these guys. No conf. Championship game. No bowl game. Every chance to play is the Blue hens Super Bowl.
