Looks like Section 126 is behind the visitors bench and hopefully a few Hen fans. We plan to visit my wifes brother in Dallas and drive to Houston Saturday. Any recommendations from a native?
We're driving in from San Antonio. Unfortunately not real familiar with the Houston area. Will be staying at a motel just over a mile from the stadium & hope to catch an uber to avoid night driving downtown.
Our seats are in the first row, so will likely have a better view of sideline activity than the field. Should have thought about that before buying, lol.

From what it sounds like with Sam Houston attendance, I think you’ll be able to have your choice of seats to sit in. Safe travels!

Oregon State thoroughly dominated Sammy in team stats but this game is a prime example of what poor special teams play and turnovers will do to you.

Hunter Watson didn’t play and I’m sure no one will know who the QB will be until game time.

I've been in Houston about 5 years (hence the username). I'll preface by saying that locally, Houston is reputed to be a a great place to live, but less so to visit. It's spread out, lacks immediately obvious natural beauty, and Downtown Houston is primarily a business district. We have fantastic cultural activities and beautiful neighborhoods, but they are spread throughout various areas of the city.

For those with time on their hands the Museum District is the cultural standout. It's about 10 minutes from Shell Energy Stadium and I particularly recommend the Museum of Fine Arts. I also love the Houston Heights neighborhood, which is known for its historic Craftsman-style architecture and locally-owned restaurants, bars, and boutiques.

If you only have time to spend around Shell Energy Stadium, check out Discovery Green, which is a really nice urban park. There are several good restaurants at Discovery Green including The Grove (New American), Grotto (upscale Italian), and Xochi (upscale Mexican). For real Tex Mex, check out Irma's Southwest or Irma's Original.

By far the greatest thing about Houston is its food scene. If anyone wants great Texas BBQ, the best options near downtown are Truth BBQ, Pinkerton's, and The Pit Room.

I just looked at the numbers. Unbelievable. OSU 474 yds to 150 yds Offense and 28 First Downs to just 8. Wow. I remember seeing a score of 17-0 Oregon State at one point. Man they really blew it.

They sure did John, we need to just go down to Houston, execute and take care of business. Plain and simple!

we lived out in far west Houston and moved/retired to Tn some 20+ years ago . It is a fabulous city and the food possibilities are endless. there is fabulous natural beauty just west of Houston though most areas are flat. I purchased and spent about 10 years creating a beautiful, manicured 6 acre parcel between Houston and Katy- planned to retire on it, but the lack of seasons lead us to choose our acreage here in East Tn instead-excellent choice. That Richmond, Tx property had massive pecan trees with 3 wing spans around and a variety of other local flora. One pecan developed a fungus and died. I have a picture of my pickup under one of the multi branching limbs and it appears tiny. A friend and I chainsawed it up and used our hydraulic splitter for firewood(Prodigious amount of cords)! one of many wonderful memories of our time living in Tx. Our top memory is both of the gold top level soccer clubs of our sons winning the Tx. state championships. can't forget our many visits to Big Bend and floating the Rio Grande- esp Santa Elena Canyon where our guide allowed to float down to the mouth of the canyon outside the raft. sorry about the aside!

as to SHSU, it's located in Huntsville about 75miles north of Houston located in what's called the Piney Woods. College Station is west of Huntville. Besides the university, it's known as a prison town.

The Texas State Prison is one of the largest in the country.

My gut reaction to seeing that number is it’s gonna be tough for Delaware to cover that ..

Playing on the road being the big reason and and just how unpredictable CUSA has been

Just get the win because 6-4 would be pretty incredible for a team transitioning up to FBS
recruiting recruiting recruiting...It ain't rocket science....We need better more athletic players...That simple....

Yep. Just win and get to 6-4. Don’t care one wit about the spread.

No insight on this one at all. I've seen the orange team play exactly one time this season, and they didn't look good, even playing "at home" in the soccer stadium. Not at all like the Sam teams of recent vintage.

My senses tell me this will be a tough one, just going on the road and playing in what seems like it might be a not so inspiring environment.

Let's cut down the flags and gimmes. Get cleaner than last week, win by one, and go home happy.

One gambler's thoughts:

I need to quit trying to pick Delaware games.
Be careful of the words you say,
keep them soft and sweet.
You never know from day to day
which ones you'll have to eat!
